COMPUTER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
The primary duty of the LTEC is to maintain the computer infrastructure for the LDoE facilities.  This includes providing support to the Department of Early Childhood, Laguna Elementary School, Laguna Middle School, and Partners for Success as well as any other programs that fall under the umbrella of LDoE.  This includes setting up all computers, building the network infrastructure, and providing the tools to help our schools provide the best education to our students.
COMPUTER ADVISORY SERVICES

To ensure that new equipment meets industry standards, and ensure that new equipment will work properly with out current infrastructure, LTEC provides Advisory services free to LDoE entities.  LTEC employees will evaluate your needs, your budget, and your infrastructure, and recommend a solution that will meet your needs for the most reasonable price.  We will also monitor your software licenses, and equipment to ensure they are working properly.  If these services are not utilized, LTEC staff cannot guarantee that your equipment will work, and additional fees may be needed to ensure the equipment works properly.

COMPUTER LAB & PRICING

LTEC is located on the campus of LDoE.  The lab consists of 21 Windows XP based computers for use by up to 20 students and an instructor, and is capable of expanding to accommodate up to 32 students.  In addition to the computers, the lab includes scanners, printers, projector, smart board, audio, and video equipment to provide instructors the tools they need to teach a variety of classes both technical and non-technical.  The lab is available for anybody to use, with preferences given to LDoE programs, and tribal programs for a nominal fee.

The fee schedule is as follows:

Weekdays

Use by LDOE Programs
$200 for a full business day (8am – 5pm Monday - Friday)
$100 for a half business day (8am – 12noon or 1pm-5pm Monday – Friday)

Use by Non-LDOE Programs
$300 for a full business day (8am – 5pm Monday - Friday)
$150 for a half business day (8am – 12noon or 1pm-5pm Monday – Friday)

Weekends

Use by LDOE Programs
$300 for a full business day (8am – 5pm Weekends, Holidays)
$150 for a half business day (8am – 12noon or 1pm-5pm Weekends, Holidays)

Use by Non-LDOE Programs
$400 for a full business day (8am – 5pm Weekends, Holidays)
$200 for a half business day (8am – 12noon or 1pm-5pm Weekends, Holidays)

Additional Charges may apply for after hours computer support in the lab. Regular computer support hours are Monday – Friday 8am–5pm
There is a half day minimum for using the lab

Special pricing provided to and BIE programs on case by case basis.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

As part of the mission of LDoE to provide quality education, LTEC promises to provide opportunities to its employees for Professional Development and Technology Training.  Classes will be designed for various technology subjects at various skills levels.  Classes can be taught by LTEC staff, or LTEC can find outside instructors depending on demand and level of expertise needed to properly teach the class.  Funding is currently being sought for providing classes to LDoE staff.  For unfunded classes taught by LTEC staff, there will be a charge of $5 per student per hour of instruction for classes with a minimum of 10 students.  Additional charges may apply for any custom classes needing research and development.

Formal Higher Education Opportunities

In addition to informal training sessions, LTEC is also working on building partnerships with Institutions of Higher Education for formal distance education opportunities to allow LDoE staff, Laguna Pueblo Tribal Members, and surrounding community members to continue their educations without leaving their communities.  The LTEC Computer Lab is equipped to handle receiving classes broadcast from different universities.  Charges for these classes will be determined by the partner universities.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
LTEC supports research related to the use of technology as a means of supporting modern learning.  We are interested in studying the impact of technology on education, and improving the educational experience through our efforts. The Center also supports the development of new technologies for use in preserving cultural and linguistic heritages, especially as they can be incorporated into education.
BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS
LTEC serves as a catalyst in forming collaborative partnerships, which include tribal, public, and private organizations, focused on enhancing educational opportunities for through the use of modern technology.  In building these partnerships, our students will not only be able to learn to use new technologies, they will be able to see how these technologies are being used in the world, and they can relate their new educational experiences with real world applications.
CONSULTING SERVICES

In order to provide better services for our students and staff, LTEC staff is also able to provide consulting services to entities outside of LDoE.  Consulting services can be provided to small businesses and offices around the community that might not be able to afford an IT staff.  This allows LTEC to hire highly qualified staff to provide services to the Laguna community, while it allows small businesses and offices to enjoy the luxury of having a fully functional IT staff at their disposal.  The following are services LTEC is planning on offering.
