Following LMS' Transitional Curriculum Model, the SIXTH GRADE is primarily self-contained, similar to elementary school. Students receive instruction in their core academic subjects from the same teacher, and stay in the same classroom for most of the day. However, to facilitate their transition, they take elective classes from different teachers, exposing them to the greater choice and movement they will experience as they progress in their education.

Following LMS' Transitional Curriculum Model, the SEVENTH GRADE (as school resources allow) is interdisciplinary, and follows the "middle school" concept as much as possible, with teachers collaborating to design and implement thematic studies across the curriculum, and also supporting students academically, socially, and behaviorally as a team, or "family."
In addition, to meet the particular educational needs of young adolescents, the 7th grade curriculum emphasizes cooperative and experiential learning methods.
Though interdisciplinary units change in any given year some have included:

- CONSTELLATIONS/ASTRONOMY
