The Special Services program is comprised of both the state-funded Early Intervention program and the Head Start Disability and Mental Health service components. The Early Intervention Program provides comprehensive home and center-based services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays, disabilities, and at-risk conditions. Two licensed and degreed early interventionists provide services to some 30 families. In addition, a paraprofessional Home Visitor also assists in providing services.
The Early Intervention program is designed to provide comprehensive child and family-centered intervention services for children between the ages of birth and five years with developmental delays, disabilities, or "at-risk conditions" (such as prematurely or chronic ear infections).
Services presently include all of the following for children birth to five, and their parents:
- Family Assessments

- Service Coordination
- Screenings
- Identification
- Referral
- Developmental Assessments
- Direct Intervention
- Therapeutic Playgroups
- Parent Education and Training
