All families enrolled in DEC programs have a service coordinator, Family Advocate, Father Advocate, Home Visitor, Early Intervention (EI) Developmental Specialists, to help families begin to set goals and identify resources.

Work has begun to align developmental screenings with health providers at local Indian Health Hospital and with private pediatricians in regards to developmental screenings.

DEC programs collaborate to have a Mental Health Consultant available 3 days per week to visit families and children both in the home and at the center to cope with issues such as depression, anger management, and other family issues.

Father Advocate provides service coordination and consultation to non-custodial fathers who strive for continued involvement with their children.

Is conducted once a year in each of the six villages with one additional Child Find at the WIC office. Children receive developmental and social emotional screenings, hearing, vision, dental, nutrition and medical screenings.

EI coordinates disabilities services for birth to 3 year old children and their parents. EI and PHS staff coordinate disabilities services for 3 to 5 year old children and their parents. Transition disability plans (IFSP, IEP) kept on schedule and delivery of services monitored by EI, EHS, and PHS staff.

Work with local elementary schools to complete all special education plans (IEPs) before child begins kindergarten. Within our programs, complete all early intervention plans and IEPs prior to a child starting in center-based EHS and PHS.
