ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
The administration of the Laguna Department of Education is the responsibility of the Superintendent with the Board of Education and the Director of Human Resources. Each administrative office seeks to support and assist all LDoE programs and employees as well as providing the highest quality of services to the community.

The Superintendent in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources are responsible for policy making, standards compliance, researching and addressing issues which impact tribal education, planning Department functions, and maintaining positive communication with Tribal, State, Federal, private agencies, and all other organizations. They are also responsible for organizing and reviewing all contracts with personnel and contractors to ensure that the LDoE is free of liability.

PERSONNEL/HUMAN RESOURCES

The Human Resource Director, with the assistance of the Program Assistant for Human Resources, currently manages over 200+ LDoE employees. Administrative responsibilities in this area include: developing vacancy annoucements; posting and/or advertising job openings; reviewing all employment applications; coordinating and conducting interviews; facilitating the background check process (background checks and drug/alcohol tests); and, ensuring that hiring policies and procedures are consistently followed. Personnel/Human Resources also oversees the employee evaluation process, promotes the Employee Wellness program, and monitors organizational health and employee morale. It provides salary and benefits administration (i.e., health, retirement, etc.), and handles employee questions, concerns, and complaints. It also addresses employee discipline issues and issues related to employment law (e.g. liability).

ACCOUNTING & FISCAL MANAGEMENT
The Accounting Department is responsible for fiscal management oversight for private, state and federal grants, purchasing for all programs, payroll and accounts payable and receivable. The Accounting processes involve over 19 funding sources managing 44 funds or programs with six (6) different fiscal years through seven (7) different departments running over 26 additional projects. Duties include: financial reporting, investments, inventory, developing guidelines for new grants, training on fiscal resource management and accounting processes, developing internal controls, cash management, compilation of timely and accurate financial reports, acquisition of goods, which includes shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment.
RESEARCH & SPECIAL INITIATIVES
Responsible for developing and maintaining process for data management, as well as provides interpretation and analysis of internal and external data and information. Facilitates research, study of educational reports, data, programs and best practice of education programs. Assists Superintendent with the assessment, oversight, management, and evaluation of special initiatives and projects.
